Do you have any good recipes on banana ?

i want to cook a dessert during family dinner.Do you have any good recipes on banana ?
Banana Cake with Banana Topping


...a very old recipe, and extremely yummy.





1 1/2 cups sugar


1/2 cup butter


2 eggs


2 cups flour


1/2 tsp. salt


1/2 tsp. baking powder


3/4 tsp. baking soda


2 tsp. vanilla


3/4 cup sour milk (you can ';sour'; the milk with 1 Tbsp. vinegar)


1 cup bananas (I usually just toss two or three bananas in, and it works)


1 cup chopped nuts (I usually use walnuts)





Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat well. Stir together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk and beat well. Add vanilla, bananas and nuts and beat well.





Pour into greased and floured pans (either a 9x13-inch or 2 (9-inch) square or round pans). Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until center of cake springs back when lightly touched. Pour topping on cake while still warm.





TOPPING:


2 cups powdered sugar


1 tsp. vanilla


1 cup mashed bananas (I usually just toss 1 or 2 bananas in; it works just fine)





Beat all ingredients together until smooth and pour over top of cake.





This is one of those recipes where you don't have to be extremely precise. If you like more nuts, add more. If you don't like them, leave 'em out. The amount of bananas I add depends upon how many I have that are getting too ripe for my taste. I made the cake this weekend when I yanked the recipe card out the box. I used plain lowfat yogurt instead of the sour milk. That work great, too.

Banana Cookies


1/2 cup of unsalted butter, room temperature


1 cup of sugar


1 egg, room temperature


1 cup of mashed bananas (about 2 陆 large bananas)


1 teaspoon of baking soda


2 cups of flour


pinch of salt


1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon


1/2 teaspoon of ground mace or nutmeg


1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves


1 cup of pecans (walnuts and chocolate chips are fine alternatives)





Preheat the oven to 350掳F. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and continue to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.





In a bowl, mix the mashed bananas and baking soda. Let sit for 2 minutes. The baking soda will react with the acid in the bananas which in turn will give the cookies their lift and rise.





Mix the banana mixture into the butter mixture. Mix together the flour, salt, and spices and sift into the butter and banana mixture and mix until just combined.





Fold into the batter the pecans or chocolate chips if using. Drop in dollops onto parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until nicely golden brown. Let cool on wire racks.





Makes about 30 cookies.

Whole Wheat Spicy Banana Bread


1/2 c. butter (or 1/4 c. applesauce and 1/4 c. marg.)


1 c. sugar (or 1/2 c. Splenda and 1/2 brown sugar)


2 eggs, lightly beaten (or 1/2 c. egg substitute)


1 c. mashed ripe bananas (about 3)


1 c. all-purpose flour, unsifted


1/2 tsp. salt


1 tsp. soda


1 c. whole wheat flour, unsifted


1/3 c. hot water


1/2 tsp. cinnamon


1/4 tsp. allspice


1/4 tsp. nutmeg


3/4 c. chopped walnuts





Melt butter and blend in sugar. Mix in beaten eggs and mashed banana, blending until smooth.





In a bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, salt, soda and whole wheat flour until thoroughly blended. Add dry ingredients alternately with hot water.





Stir in chopped nuts and spices.





Spoon batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.





Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 1 hour and 10 minutes, until bread begins to pull away from sides of pan and a wooden skewer inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes; then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.





Makes 1 loaf.

HOT BANANA SPLIT





Ingredients


1 banana


1 Cadbury Flake chocolate bar, crumbled


2 scoops vanilla ice-cream


1 tbs toasted walnuts, chopped





Method


Preheat the oven to 190掳C.


Make a slit in the banana skin lengthways, cutting into flesh. Fill cavity with chocolate, then wrap in foil. Place on a baking tray and bake for 5-10 minutes or until chocolate melts. Remove from the oven, carefully open the banana skin and lift chocolate-coated banana onto a serving dish. Add the ice-cream and sprinkle the nuts over the top.





BANANA HONEY MUFFINS





Ingredients


1 cup wholemeal self-raising flour


1 cup self-raising flour


2 teaspoons baking powder


1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


1/4 cup raw sugar


1/2 cup desiccated coconut


1 cup mashed banana


1/3 cup honey


1/4 cup extra-light olive oil


2 eggs, lightly whisked


1/3 cup honey yoghurt


1/4 cup shredded coconut, toasted





Method


Preheat oven to 200掳C. Lightly grease a 12-hole 1/3-cup capacity muffin pan.


Sift flours, baking powder and cinnamon into a bowl. Stir in sugar and desiccated coconut. Make a well in the centre.


Whisk banana, 1/4 cup honey, oil, egg and yoghurt in a jug. Pour into well. Gently fold until just combined. Three-quarter fill muffin holes with mixture. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Stand for 5 minutes in pan. Turn onto a wire rack.


Heat remaining honey in microwave on HIGH (100%) for 20 seconds. Brush tops of warm muffins with warm honey. Sprinkle with toasted coconut. Serve warm.





BANANA %26amp; SULTANA BREAD - very good served with custard or ice-cream :)





Makes 1 loaf





Ingredients


2 cups (300g) self-raising flour


1 tsp bicarbonate of soda


Pinch of salt


1 tsp ground cinnamon


1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar


3/4 cup (125g) sultanas


2 eggs, lightly beaten


1 cup (250ml) reduced fat milk


1 cup mashed banana (about 2 large ripe bananas)





Method


Preheat oven to 180掳C. Line the base and sides of a 23cm x 13cm loaf pan with non-stick baking paper.


Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda, salt and cinnamon into a large bowl. Stir in sugar and sultanas.


Combine eggs, milk and bananas in a large jug. Whisk with a fork, until well combined. Using a large metal spoon, stir egg mixture into dry ingredients, until well combined.


Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.


Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Turn onto a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve lightly buttered, or toasted.





BANANA CAKE





INGREDIENTS


2陆 cups self-raising flour, sifted


1 cup caster sugar


2 medium ripe bananas, mashed


戮 cup milk


录 cup vegetable oil


1 egg


LEMON FROSTING


125g unsalted butter, chopped, at room temperature


戮 cup icing sugar


1 tablespoon lemon juice





METHOD


Preheat oven to moderately slow, 160掳C. Lightly grease a 14 x 21cm loaf pan and line with baking paper.





In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together all ingredients until smooth.





Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden and cooked when tested with a skewer. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.





LEMON FROSTING. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and icing sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in lemon juice. Spread frosting over cooled cake, slice and serve.





BAKED BANANA


Ingredients (serves 4)


250g butter


1/2 cup brown sugar


1/3 cup rum


4 bananas, peeled, halved


2 vanilla beans, split into 8 pieces


vanilla ice-cream, to serve





Method


Preheat oven to 200掳C. Cut four 50cm lengths of foil. Cut four 30cm lengths of baking paper. Fold each piece of baking paper into 4. Fold each length of foil in half. Open foil and place folded baking paper on one half of foil.


Heat 200g butter and sugar in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes. Add rum to caramel sauce. Cook for 1 minute.


Place 2 pieces banana on each piece of baking paper. Top with 2 pieces vanilla bean and 2 teaspoons of remaining butter. Pour over 1/4 cup caramel sauce. Fold over foil and join edges together to seal and form a parcel. Place on a large baking tray.


Bake parcels for 8 to 10 minutes or until banana is tender. Place on plates. Carefully open. Top with ice-cream and serve.





BANANA CARAMEL TRIFLE





Ingredients (serves 4)


1 cup brown sugar


300ml thickened cream


60g butter, chopped


1 teaspoon vanilla essence


450g Madeira cake


1 cup vanilla custard


4 bananas, halved, sliced diagonally


2 tablespoons chocolate sprinkles





Method


Combine sugar, cream, butter and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until sauce comes to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour caramel into a heatproof bowl or jug. Refrigerate until cool and thickened.


Trim brown edges from all sides of cake and discard. Cut cake into 1cm
There are many things to make with bananas you can cut them up and mix with other fruit and serve cold.


slice bananas one for each person


place in deep bowl with other fruits like mandarin oranges, coconut that is grated, apples that are cut into small chunks, chopped walnuts, mango and orange juice to make it juicy and it keeps the banana from turning dark. cover with plastic wrap so the fruit does not dry out keep in refrigerator until serving time.. Do this ahead of time so it has time to chill and the flavors mix well together. Serve with cookies.





You can make this hot banana dessert


Slice one banana for each person you are serving in circles or lengthwise....then in a large frying pan place 1/2 stick butter on low heat add 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, dash of nutmeg and some liquid like fruit juice..orange 1/2 cup..stir on medium heat until it thickens if you like rum add a couple tablespoons and let it cook until the alcohol cooks out of it and you are left with the flavor. Serve this over vanilla ice cream ....as soon as the sauce has bubbled and thick. Cook over medium heat not too high. Stir lightly so the bananas do not fall apart.





You can make a banana bread or banana muffins





You can make a ';banana split'; cut the banana down the length of it. Place 3 scoops of ice cream usually vanilla, chocolate and strawberry or all vanilla on top of the banana. Then on top of each scoop of ice cream you have choices of toppings like chopped nuts, crushed pineapple, strawberries and whipped cream and a cherry and not to miss chocolate syrup.

*****Banana Pudding


1 large box of instant vanilla pudding mix


1 (8oz.) soft cream cheese, at room temperature


1 large can of sweetened condensed milk


1 extra large whipped topping


2 large boxes of vanilla wafers cookies


10 large bananas


Prepare pudding, as to box, with mixer then set aside. Next blend cream cheese in another bowl, add milk and blend well. Then you can add your pudding to the cream cheese mixture and mix well. Then you are ready to add cool whip, you want to fold this in, but do not mix. And the last step is in extra large bowl you layer the bottom of the bowl with the cookies then the sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture and beginning with the cookies and layer a couple of times and finish with sliced bananas on top. Chill for 2 hours.


*****Banana Rum Bread Pudding with Rum Caramel Sauce


Yield: 10 servings


---Banana pudding:---


8 ounces French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes


4 eggs


2 tablespoons rum (optional)


2 1/2 cups milk


1/2 cup brown sugar


1 teaspoon cinnamon


dash of nutmeg


3 bananas, 2 very ripe, 1 firm


---Rum caramel sauce:---


1/2 cup butter


2 tablespoons dark rum (optional)


3/4 cup brown sugar


1/2 cup heavy cream


----To prepare bread pudding: ---Place bread cubes in a single layer in a casserole dish. Set aside.In a large bowl, beat eggs with rum. Stir in milk and brown sugar, mixing well. Add cinnamon and nutmeg, stirring until spices are thoroughly mixed into liquid. Pour mixture over prepared bread cubes. Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for one hour.Generously butter a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Set aside.Heat oven to 350 F. Remove bread/egg mixture from refrigerator. In a medium bowl, mash two very ripe bananas. Stir into bread mixture. Spoon mixture into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until done.Let cool 15 minutes. Invert onto serving platter.


----To prepare rum caramel sauce:---Melt butter with rum in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar. Increase heat to medium high and bring to a boil. Boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, for five minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for five minutes. Stir in heavy cream. If mixture thickens before using, heat at medium setting in microwave.


----To assemble:--Diagonally cut firm banana into 13 pieces. Spoon rum caramel sauce over bread pudding, allowing the sauce to drip down sides. Place 5 slices of banana in a zig-zag pattern down center of bread pudding. Place two banana pieces on plate in each corner of the bread pudding.

1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin


2/3 cup sugar


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1/4 cup water


4 large ripe bananas, mashed


juice of 2 oranges, about 2/3 to 1 cup


1/2 cup heavy cream


In a saucepan, combine gelatin, sugar, vanilla, and water. Stir over medium heat until dissolved. Add bananas and orange juice. Mix well and chill until cold but not set. Whip cream until stiff. Fold into banana mixture; chill thoroughly before serving.

Banana pudding stuff...not sure exactly how to make it, but bananas, nilla wafers and vanilla pudding. I think it's really easy, not that bad for you, and I know it's really good.
I cut up some bananas and baked them in a yellow boxed cake mix. I didn't even need icing. It was very tasty. Just follow the directions on the box of mix and add the bananas. I think I used 3
There is nothing better for a family desert then the old fashion banana split =D. Trust me its excellent for the kids and adults!
Try a banana split pie, Pumpkin roll with cream cheese in middle, a cobbler, or a crisp with ice cream.
cut open banana in half and sprinkle sugar on it, then squeeze a lemon over it
Make a banana cake!


My mom bakes them really well!!!!
